I've been quite a keen follower of Wil Anderson's stand-up for a while now but had only recently brought myself to watch his first DVD "Wilosophy" for the first time last night. Question: Why has it taken me so long to watch the most adorably funny stand-up I've seen, ever? Admittedly, DeAnne Smith is pretty damn adorable but Wil "Ando, the commando" Anderson ...Well, let's just say he wears fucken thongs (the shoes) to his own SHOW at the Sydney OPERA HOUSE! That kind of says it all! His attitude is enthusiastic and his energy (note: jumping around in his thongs [again, his shoes]) is contagious. What really topped it for me though was his stance on the big(ish) social issues: gay marriage; human and animal rights; and the ability for our society to change these issues for the better are spot on and I really applaud Anderson for going out of his way to sneak in some serious talk with his audience. The only issue I had with the DVD however, was Anderson's attitude towards drug-use. Now, I'm not a prude when it comes to drugs and I know he said during his stand-up that he wasn't trying to endorse drugs but the fact is, if a kid who was unsure about whether or not to take drugs stumbled upon his DVD, they would most definitely end up with the conclusion that drugs are more fun than they are trouble, which is not always the case. Anyway, I actually got so excited after watching "Wilosophy" the first time that I encouraged my mum to watch it with me the second time around forgetting that there's quite a bit of swearing and sex talk/wanking jokes. After that experience, I probably wouldn't recommend this as a family show. Overall though, Wil Anderson is a fantastic comic and watching the DVD was a great 75 minutes spent.
Note: Urgh, this post made it seem like Anderson just prances around in his thongs (shoes!) swearing and talking about social issues... well, yes, that kind of is the jist of it but it's really very funny and a little more masculine than that, honest!

Quick question
Hi Bloggers,
I'm kind of new to this so I'm just wondering how I go about searching for new blogs. For example, if I liked The Bell Jar (which I did!), am I able to search for other people's posts on The Bell Jar or is Google the only way?
Thanks!

Blog post 1: An introduction
Hello to whoever out there is reading this,
Firstly, thank you for taking the time out to read about my feelings. I don't really know why I chose the blog name that I did as I'm not really confused. I guess Ramblings of a confused twenty year old sounds slightly more inviting than Ramblings of a whiny twenty year old, which probably suits me more. :)
So, a bit about myself and this blog. This is an anonymous blog; not because I think that people may hunt me down if they realise who is typing all this rubbish up, and certainly not because I need to protect my identity. It may somewhat be because I want the freedom to say whatever I want without perhaps offending the people that I may know, but I think the main reason I chose to keep this anonymous is because I want to hear new opinions from people who I haven't met yet. I'm (apparently) very shy in real life so I'd like to think that some of the benefits of a blog is to write to an anonymous audience and maybe make some new friends along the way.
Well, after all that rambling I guess what I'm saying is that I'm going to lay all my cards face-up on this blog so please don't be too shy (like I always am) to hit my comments box because I'd love to hear from you!
